Went to Carnegie Hall for Frederica von Stade's farewell recital. I don't do the fan thing at all, but became a fan of hers at the age of 11 when I saw her perform Cherubino in the Marriage of Figaro at Glyndebourne. Opera/music/serious singing could be fun! An amazing voice, a witty performer and charm and acting skill to boot. Now, 37 years, that's all. So both the best & the saddest thing! Still, found a seat in Row B, so it felt like attending a concert in my own living room. Just a wonderful performance. Ho hum...

Collecting my daughter after her school trip to Germany! I've missed her so much, it's great to have her home. She had a whale of a time, though, and came home with loads of chocolate from the chocolate factory. She enjoyed her wine tasting experience at the vineyard trip, but the highlight was Phantasialand - apparently there's nothing like hanging upside down whilst going at high speed!!

I got to meet Laurie R King this evening! She was doing a signing half an hour away, and we drove up to see her. I got to hear her talk and get a book signed--awesome! I've been reading her books since I was in college, so seeing her in person was such a thrill.

exactly two weeks from now I'll be racing my first quad race with an affiliated group...yep I'm excited. I madly love my four wheeler and now I found a atv racing group that accepts females! so got all my gear ready and my quad all clean and shine.
By the way I finished my third week at my new job and though overwhelming since it's new to me I like it alot. My boss races dirtbikes so it's weird sometimes we get side tracked talking bikes and tracks and the best places to ride.

Sometimes things definitely work out for the best Nona - and good luck!
