MLE - Sounds like a great night out!

Best thing today for me, was I was given a promotion that is effective tomorrow! It has been 2 years in the works of extra work and hours, but I think in the long run, it will be worth it.
Great news!

It's still breaking news, but it appears Seattle police have made an arrest of a "person of interest" for the shooting of an officer on Halloween - he was merely sitting in his patrol car with his partner and someone opened fire on them. This all came down less than an hour after the memorial service.

Arrest? More like they shot him in the head, he's at Harborview right now.

Of course he was armed and supposedly fired on the police coming to see him.

I know, I couldn't think how to say EVERYTHING without getting too complicated. Sorry. They're reporting now that Harborview is in lockdown.

Interest in HF: started in childhood with the classics, which, IMHO are HF even if they were contemporary when written.
Favourite HF book: Prince of Foxes, by Samuel Shellabarger
Preferred HF: Currently prefer 1600 and earlier, but I'll read anything that keeps me turning the page.
Location: California Bay Area

Best thing today was a lovely Winter's Feast with the Northern Calif. Renaissance guilds. This is the first since we decided to join (as opposed to storing the props, loaning the truck to get them to various faires, and hosting the many sewing fests for the daughter and SIL and guild friends) and it was quite fun. The food was great (whole roasted pig, flaming pudding, and even some non-period potatoes -- excepting the haggis, but then, it was a Scottish guild hosting, so they had to serve haggis) The Celtic band was good. Too loud for me, but the dh thought they were just right.
But then he's near deaf from playing in his own band.
next year, I'll get him onto the dance floor if I have to drag him!

Since I got in an hour early this am because of a doc's appointment, I went off to Union Station for a bit before returning to the library. Did a little shopping and saw the Sesame Street exhibit.

Waking up to a breakfast of feast leftovers from yesterday's Tournament of Chivalry. Cold smoked capon is amazingly good at 7 AM.
