Hi Iliana!

Glad to see you here.

When I am not here, I am Marg from Reading Adventures!

Have you got Brief Gaudy Hour to read as well?

I have Brief Gaudy Hour (haven't read it yet though).
I would love My Lady of Cleves.
Is it a brand new release or a re- release?

It's a rerelease. Keep your eyes peeled for an announcement about a couple of MCB books this weekend (if I get my act together and do something in conjunction with it!)

Thanks for the welcome Marg!

I did finish Brief Gaudy Hour and really enjoyed it. The only other novel about Anne Boleyn I've read before was Philippa Gregory's book The Other Boleyn Girl (which I did like) but MCB really did well with this one. I liked that we got the backstory - like her time at the French Court. I don't remember that in the Gregory book.

I haven't gotten to My Lady of Cleeves yet but I need to do so soon.

I want to read Brief Gaudy Hour, but since its from the 70s I worry that I wont enjoy it. I tried to read some other HF from the era and it just didnt sit well.

Does this one read like a modern book? Is it from Anne's POV?

Divia - that's a good point. I looked at my book and the copyright is actually 1949. I didn't find it "dated" if you will.

It's told from third person POV and I think the author describes well the younger Anne who was actually in love with another man and how she goes from being heartbroken to learning how to play the court game. I'd definitely recommend it.
