I'm in war-torn Biafra in the 1960's and conditions are rapidly deteroriating.

I'm in Acre, it is Sept 1191 and very hot and dusty. The city is swarming with a violent optimism after the lifting of the siege.

Christine de Pisan may be an unnerving kind of hostess, but sitting in her workroom and reading through a manuscript about her life, I'm beginning to understand more about this formidable lady. Soon I will head out into the streets of Paris and discover more of the impact that years of civil strife has had on the city.

Recovering consciousness to find myself manacled and trapped in a tiny dank cell in the bowels of the Tower of London.
The cell is known as Little Ease for obvious reasons and I am having a panic attack because everything hurts and I can't remember anything, not even my name, and have no idea how I got here.

In fairly modern day Dundee, and a remote island somewhere off the coast of Scotland, in Kate Atkinson's "Emotionally Weird", which is a bit weird.
