I enjoyed Ruckley's "Winterbirth" and the sequel "Bloodheir". There's meant to be a third book in the series coming out later this year.[/quote]

It's called Fall of Thanes. Comments about it here from a bookshop owner in Edinburgh: http://www.flickr.com/photos/17270214@N ... 306061465/. He does mail order, but I expect The Book Depository has it available.
I have the trilogy on my list but haven't got to it yet.

Last night I ordered The Night Drifter and the Midnight Bride by Susan Carroll, thanx to Misfit for suggesting Bride Finder it was witty and an easy read however now I feel I must read these two, lol, darn my compulsive self.

I received a stack of books while working on my course stuff, and have now come up for air to read them. :D

The Winter Mantle - Elizabeth Chadwick
The Loch - Steve Alten
The Conqueror - Georgette Heyer

... and a couple of Shannon McKenna titles I blush to divulge :p

Finally gave in to temptation and ordered Mary Stewart's Merlin trilogy, Thornyhold and Moonspinners; also bought Patrick Gale's new one, "The Whole Day Through".

I was cruising through Craigslist in the book section which is rare since the only things listed seem to be college books and workbooks and such and low and behold I stumble upon theses for only $8 and there in very good condition plus I have not read any of them yet so they'll be first time reads at a deal.

Coronation of Glory-Deborah Meroff
The Kings and Queens of England-Jane Murray
All the Queen's Men-Neville Williams

Ah, book heaven...

This week have received two by David Hillier, two by Geraldine McCaughrean (not sure I'm going to enjoy her writing style, but we'll see) and the book about medieval Sicily that someone recommended by Cesare Rotondi -- Persephone's Garden? Also replacement copies for Penmarric (battered, pages falling out) and Cashelmara

Add that to one history book purchased at Barnes & Noble, two Amazon.co.uk arrivals and two Amazon Vine books for review (plus two more coming next week), and I would say this has been a good book week... Oh yeah -- forgot about the five Kindle books I added... :D
