but if it does go back up, might be worth copying and pasting the stuff we need from it and bringing it here... unless that's against the law?
I don't recall signing my intellectual property rights away when I posted there. So if access becomes available, and if my posts are still there, I will be selectively copying any worth saving. I've already found and copied some that are still in the Google cache or available at the Internet Archive.
I've just been to have a look. You'd think they'd have an announcement somewhere, though, wouldn't you? Or some sort of apology for the site being down.
I know! That was just weird! Is it a money thing, I wonder? But seriously, how much can you make off a forum like this? Seems like it's more work for the Admins than anything else! I know that's true for the site I Admin!

Books to the ceiling,
Books to the sky,
My pile of books is a mile high.
How I love them! How I need them!
I'll have a long beard by the time I read them. --Arnold Lobel

On my Jane site if I'm lucky I can make a $100 or so every few months. If each us click a few times a week I'm sure they can earn a good amount.

That is what we could never understand. They had a site where their mods were happy to do whatever needed to be done, and they just had to watch the income come in (and pay server costs of course), and yet even that was too much.
