As you know I normally use the library, but today as I walked past the local bookstore, there was The Camomile Lawn on the $5.99 each $20 for 5 stand. I looked for another 4 to take my fancy but there was nothing that took my fancy. But $6 for a book I thought was good!
A good book and a good coffee, what more can anyone want? xx

I remember watching the TV adaptation of that a few years ago with Jennifer Ehle as Calypso. I really enjoyed it, which led me to buying the book! I'm ashamed to say I haven't read it yet, though! :o

I might not read it for a while, but it will be here for when I need it!

Oh yes, the adaptation was great. Watching it prompted me to read several other Mary Wesley novels at the time, most of which were good, though I don't think I ever read The Camomile Lawn itself.

I was out on a reading group meet-up yesterday in York, which took in some lunch and then a browse around the book shops. We visited Borders and a book clearance shop and I came home with:

Portrait in Sepia by Isabelle Allende
Diana by R F Delderfield
The Last Wife of Henry VIII by Carolly Ericson
The 19th Wife by David Ebershoff
The First Princess of Wales by Karen Harper
Footsteps by Katharine McMahon
The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Schaffer

Charity Girl by Georgett Heyer
My Lady of Cleves by Margaret Barnes

I'm delighted that B&N carries Heyers so I'll be stocking up every time I go.

I got my copy of "The Complete Pompeii" today, YEA! I was afraid it might not show up cause the seller has gotten a lot of bad feedback, but they sell thousands of books. I need to remember to check feedback before I buy, but it came and I'm happy!

On a Belgian book site there is a sale : when you buy 4 or more english books you get a discount of 25 %. So I ordered the first 8 books in the Morland Dynastie series.
