What are you reading?
Reading Crown of Aloes, Norah Loft's novel about Isabella of Spain. Finding myself uncomfortable a bit, because the character comes across as very sympathetic. I have long associated her with the Spanish Inquisition, and the expelling of the Jews from Spain, so its odd to find her anything but rather evil, or at best, intolerant. The author has her expressing misgivings in her conversations with Torqumanda - but they didn't stop him. Im only half way through, and am getting to the part with her conversations with Columbus, which should be interesting. But its all a little too close to home, and almost don't want her to have any nuances in her character, or contradictions, which isn't fair or realistic. So I continue to read, with the fate of millions being pushed back in my head.

I've finished "Ghosts Caught On Film: Photographs of the Paranormal" by Dr. Melwyn Willin. It wasn't a very long book and the entries for each image used were rather short, but it was interesting nonetheless.

I'm still working on The Conqueror by Georgette Heyer (it goes well when I'm on the treadmill). For fiction reading in the wing chair, I'm midway through an older novel by Alice Harwood called The Clandestine Queen about Elizabeth Woodville. I've got many nonfiction books to choose from, so I'm still trying to decide what to read next for wing-chair reading.
