hopefully you'll have a job in no time, is the economy really bad where you're at. Here in Tulsa most people are ok there are some industries that are slowing but the unemployment is nowhere near where some states are at.

Its pretty bad here and the fact that our governor said he was cutting aid to schools has everyone freaking out. But I was pretty much told today that its not good, that the job I assumed I would have, won't be mine because of my lack of seniority and well I dunno what to do. :(

I'm so sorry to hear that, Divia. Are they eliminating positions? Do you have tenure?

(I sent you a private message.)

This will be my tenure year. However I was told that if I cannot get a high school middle school transfer, which I cannot now because two people with seniority want the job (even though I was hired for it and last year had it!) I will not get tenure. So I'm out of a job. :(

Sorry to hear the news, Divia. Can you get a job in the system that you don't necessarily want but that will give you the seniority to transfer to something more desirable later?

That stinks! Are you certified in anything else? If so, could you do what boswellbaxter suggests? I'm assuming you work in a small school district where there are fewer options.
