Michelle that is awful. I have a harddrive slaved into my main one to back up everything on to, and so far, I haven't lost anything yet. I like Norton and McAfee -- I'll ask J if he has any ideas for recovery of your files, he's a true geek when it comes to that sort of thing.
Ok, just asked J, he suggested copying everything manually over to an extra harddrive.

A teenage boy in our town who has been missing for several days was found murdered, and four local teens have been charged in his death. My daughter knew the victim from online and has friends who knew the accused teens, so she's naturally quite upset about this. Of course, this is a tragedy whether or not one knows the people involved, but it hits a little deeper when it happens to someone you know.

How very sad. I think I heard about this. Is this the case where the victim was friends with the suspects on Facebook/My Space?

Yes--a lot of armchair detectives here have been reading the pages of those involved.

How awful! what a senseless stupid tragedy for everyone involved. Have they discovered why the boy was murdered?

Might only be around sporadically for a few days. My mother in law died a couple of hours ago - expected in the scheme of things, we just didn't know when. It is a blessing in disguise. Lots of stuff to sort out and arrange now though. Dh is away at hospital at the moment supporting his sisters who want to farewell her, so I'm waiting up for his return. Could be a long night into early morning. Dh is okay; he's very pragmatic, and FIL is all right too. Will be around as and when.
