The Sisters Who Would be Queen: The Tragedy of Katherine, Mary and Lady Jane Grey by Leanda de Lisle

This isn't out in the UK till Jan 2009 and Leanda says it won't be out in the US till Sept 2009. But she did tell me that she has asked the publishing house to send me a copy and says I should get it by Christmas, but we'll see.

Sounds like a very interesting book. I am always interested in learning more about lesser known people like Katherine and Mary Grey.

I'm really looking forward to this one--will probably order it from the UK instead of waiting for the US release.

Should be interesting having them all together in one book.

This is one I really want to get my hands on. The only other author that I can think of who's written about the Grey sisters is Alison Plowden, in Lady Jane Grey and the House of Suffolk.

They are also covered in Tudor Cousins by Dulcie Ashdown. While non-fiction, it does cover many of the lives of those with a claim to the throne after Henry VIII and up till Elizabeth. I really enjoyed this book, especially learning more about Katherine Grey, and Margaret Douglas.

Got my copy of "The Sisters Who Would Be Queen: The Tragedy of Mary, Katherine, and Lady Jane Grey" with a note from the author, Leanda de Lisle.

I am in the process of reading four books at the moment and won't have time to read it until I get some of these finished. When I do get to read it, I'll try to take notes and write a review.

I'll be keen to read your review, seeing as you are so keyed up on Lady Jane!

I'm intersted to read your review as well. Personally I can't believe someone hasnt written a book about Katherine Grey. How interesting her life was! Instead we get the same old Elizabeth stories!
