Saw the first episode and yes it was sumptuous but they've got some tedious storylines (think Downton Abbey's pigs.... ) and the actors must have had a job keeping a straight face whilst saying some lines. Le'ts hope it gets more interesting.

Saw that news bit about Lord M on "Telly Visions" blog earlier in the week. I'm sure Albert will be thrilled!

New series companion book

Post by princess garnet » Mon September 25th, 2017, 1:08 am

Thought this would be of interest: there's a new "Victoria" TV series companion book titled Victoria & Albert: A Royal Love Affair by Daisy Goodwin. (It's now available by the same title in the UK) It'll be released here in the US on November 21st. So, we'll get an early look of season 2 ahead of its broadcast on PBS January 2018.
You can view the cover and book description on Amazon--click the hypertext link to view.

Interest in HF: I’ve always loved fiction and history, so historical fiction is my happy reading zone. I think the books that cemented hist fic as my favourite were Random Passage and Waiting for Time by Bernice Morgan. I have a special interest in: WWII, Ireland, England, Italy, Canada (especially Newfoundland and Labrador), women’s history/herstory and folklore.
Favourite HF book: Can’t pick one. Recently enjoyed The Good People by Hannah Kent.
Preferred HF: I have a special interest in WWII period, especially relating to women’s history, codebreaking work, Bletchley Park. I tend to most enjoy literary fiction rather than comercial or popular fiction, but read a range.

I saw season 1 of Victoria on PBS channel out of US. And I think season 2 will air on PBS in 2018. The series may be on Netflix, too. I normally enjoy the actor who plays Prince Albert, though I’m not certain of my opinion of him as Prince Albert.
