I know this is a website devoted to Historical fiction.
However, has anyone managed to watch Outlander as yet?
If so, was it any good?

Outlander TV Series
I've seen the first episode. I was lucky to get a ticket to a preview session a couple of weeks ago in a cinema. It was organised by the SoHo (the carrier in Australia), and Random House. There was popcorn, a soft drink, a choc top, and a free pocket Jamie for everyone too! It was great to see it with a cinema full of fans!
And I loved it of course! The theme music is amazing. I have since watched it again, and listened to Ron Moore's podcast (like a DVD commentary - complete with pauses to sip his scotch!), and it is fantastic to learn the level of detail that has been considered at every point. Really looking forward to the rest of the ride!

I originally posted this in another thread:
STARZ is allowing those in the USA to watch the first episode of Outlander free starting August 2. Diana Gabaldon posted this link on her Facebook page with instructions and I am posting it below. The episode will be available from 8/2-9/28. Sorry, this is for USA viewers only. I don't get STARZ, so it was a good way to at least see the first episode. I will have to wait for the DVDs and borrow them from the library, or wait until STARZ has a promo on DirecTV.

And a very valid point about the table when you stop to think.

Whenever I go to the site it wont allow me to play sound, but every other site allows it. I have no idea what is going on. Oh well.

I watched it on my TV. I don't get STARZ, but episode 1 is available until 9/28. I imagine getting to the free episode may be different for each provider (I have DirecTV), but see if that works for you. STARZ has also made it available on You Tube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hlTvwLb2v9Q

I had no problem watching it on my laptop. I think I linked off from the Starz website.
