Did Duchess Kate Almost Say the "D" Word?

Post by SonjaMarie » Thu March 7th, 2013, 3:40 am

As in "Daughter"?

Someone had given her a teddy bear and Kate was thanking her and said "I will take that for my d...." and corrected herself and said "my baby".

So can it be a girl?! Guess we won't know for sure until July unless they actually come out and confirm before hand.

Hehe! I didn't see this myself, but it could well have been a slip up ;) Guess we'll find out soon enough!

Some articles the other day said she didn't start to say "d......."
Here's one: Revealed: Duchess DIDN'T start to say 'daughter!' New footage shows Kate saying 'is this for us, aww' NOT 'is this for our dau...' when handed gift this week

To be honest, I don't really care (I prefer my royals to be long dead), but Friday evenings is my day to post the royal news at the site I help administer and I saw the articles.

Oh well, that clears that up, I think, thanks Susan!

After Diana died I pretty much lost interest in live royals, but this is Diana's first grandchild, poshumous though it is, mega sigh.

I would much rather we did not have a Royal family. They're nice enough people, but the role is outdated.

"I prefer my royals to be long dead" is the quote of the day - love it, Susan!
"To be the queen, she agreed to be the widow!"

Interesting. Do you think Elizabeth II will be your last monarch?

No, sadly. I think they'll last a while longer yet. What with all that's come to light about our politicians in recent years, people have lost faith in them, and I think the Royal family, generally speaking, represents something a bit more solid. When I've mentioned this to people before, the usual reaction is that we need the Royal family. Even if they do not particularly like them, they seem to feel this way.

That's my observation, at least.

yes they're still generally held in great affection here. Personally I've nothing against them, and I think the younger ones are proving very popular too. They also bring in a phenomenal amount of tourists - I've been in the Buck Palace area when they haven't even been in residence, and the whole area was packed with people, who are all going to spend their money on food, drink ,shopping, maybe other entertainments - the gift shop was doing a roaring trade too. Sometimes I wish they would take a more active role in governing though, given the current poor lot!

Are they are allowed to?
