Introducing myself
Introducing myself
Hello!
I'm newly arrived here, but an old fan of historical fiction. My relationship with historical fiction probably started many years ago when my mother read Laura Ingalls Wilder's books to me when I was 4. However, the deal was really signed when I discovered Dumas, Scott and the other classics a few years later. These days, I both read and write historical fiction, and quite a lot of historical non-fiction. I suppose you could call me a history geek.
I read all periods and all sorts of historicals but I have a soft spot for mysteries and adventure stories. I also read quite a lot of books that were once contemporary but are now historical. Project Gutenberg is a treasure trove for obscure books I've never heard about, but find I like quite a lot.
Anyway, I'm really happy to have found some like-minded people and look forward to exchanging reading tips and opinions with you all!

- Interest in HF: started in childhood with the classics, which, IMHO are HF even if they were contemporary when written.
- Favourite HF book: Prince of Foxes, by Samuel Shellabarger
- Preferred HF: Currently prefer 1600 and earlier, but I'll read anything that keeps me turning the page.
