Blackadder Goes Forth. Quite good. Loved Hugh Laurie as bubbly, simple, George. Stark contrast to Mr. Palmer in Sense & Sensibility.

Also Footloose (2011). Weak, but then I never liked the original. Julianne Hough was quite good. Didn't really buy Dennis Quaid in his role. Just seemed like something was missing in that character. Not horrible, just not fantastic either.

Saw Hope Springs yesterday; not nearly as kinky as the preview implies - but a well written film with three excellent actors. I suspect many couples will relate to this one.

Carnage, directed by Polanski, and an adaptation of a stage play. Like many such films, it suffers a little from feeling a little artificial, but the central roles, played by Kate Winslet, Jodie Foster and two others, are so magnetic that it carried the film through. Very very sharp.

The Words with Jeremy Irons, Bradley Cooper and Dennis Quaid (with a few supportive females thrown in.) This was a preview, the movie comes out in a couple of days. A must see for writers--it's a story within a story within a story and maybe a fourth story depending on how you interpret the ending. The basic story in the story is about a young talented writer (Cooper) who can't sell his literary masterpiece and discovers a typewritten manuscript in a vintage leather portfolio which he passes off as his own. Fame, fortune and awards later...

Roman Polanski's Macbeth
Into battle we ride with Gods by our side
We are strong and not afraid to die
We have an urge to kill and our lust for blood has to be fulfilled
WE´LL FIGHT TILL THE END! And send our enemies straight to Hell!

Nefret, I love and have such a hard time watching that film.

1957 version of 12 Angry Men. An absolute classic, and proof that a great movie doesn't need much more than a room and a bunch of good actors (oh, yes, and a scriptwriter/director who can tell a good story).

Blackadder Goes Forth, it's hilarious.

Hamlet (with The Doctor and Captain Picard)

Flash of Genius. Solid film, based on the true story of the man who invented intermittent windshield wipers.

The Deep Blue Sea with Rachel Weisz and Tim Hiddleston. A dark, psychological exploration of obsessive love. Don't watch this if you're already depressed...and to think I could have watched Annie Hall.
