Stella Riley - Marigold Chain - Now available on Kindle (in the UK)

Post by SGM » Sat June 9th, 2012, 8:22 pm

Well, at least that means some contact has been made. Maybe we will get the final book. But I fear the worst.

However, it is such a shame for the person selling a hard copy for £57.99. I suspect they will not get it.

Unfortunately, I paid quite a lot for my hard copy not that long ago.

Ooops -- there is one for sale at £90 which is such a shame because the Kindle edition only costs £3.05. Oh dear.

And contact has apparently been made. See the link:

Thanks for the heads up, SGM - I've had this on my wish list for some time. Happily, Marigold Chain is also available as a Kindle option from Amazon.com. Amazon UK doesn't allow Kindle book sales outside of the UK as a rule- quite frustrating at times for those of us who live elsewhere.

Actually I spotted it at .com first but there was no pricing info so I assumed it it couldn't be bought there bot am possibly wrong. SR does say she has revised it extensively so I got the Kindle edition and have inspected some of the areas I thought she would revise ans was colorect!

I don't want to make this book out to be more than it is -- which is a simple romance but it is does have a plot and a good sense of time and doesn't get try to get involved with issues like religion which requie a delicate and subtle hand and a writer that understands it.

Interesting development, thanks for mentioning it. I did see the email on the SB's site and Riley says she's hooked into the KDP program for 90 days. We might have a chance of it going on the freebie sales.

Don't make my mistake and leave it too long!

There is a NF I really want but is very very expensive and although I can borrow it from the library, it is only on 7-day loan -- and it is a massive (if essential book).

I saw it as an ebook on Amazon at well under half-price but I thought to myself that it was the sort of book I really wanted in hard copy. So I left it and left it but yesterday I decided I would get the ebook anyway. However when I looked it was no longer available.

I have only found it at one other place (apart from an illegal download) now but it is a website I don't recognise so I am not prepared to use my credit card.

Even the secondhand ones are about double the price the ebook was on sale at. But I guess I will have to ask for it as a birthday present later in the year.

Grrrrrr.....

I did snap up the Kindle edition at Amazon.com as soon as I followed up after reading yur post, SGM, and bought it no problems for about US$5.00. Whether that situation will remain, well, remains to be seen! Deals at places like Amazon and Book Depositiory as subject to sudden change at any given time.

Huh. I did look at .com again but from my iPad which doesn't know that I am in the UK because I have never used it to buy anything there and it was showing at $4.50 --- very strange. But it's still better than $217 for the hard copy.

Well, I hope it bumps up her numbers enough to encourage her to do more.

It's the Civil War ones that are my real interest but so far no mention of the final instalment.

Stella Riley's Parfit Knight now available on Kindle.

I am not particularly partial to Regencies by anyone other than Heyer and this is the only one of her Regencies I have read. It didn't do it for me but hopefully this will build a new profile and encourage Stella Riley to produce some new work.
