How sweet!!

I got to work from home this morning which is always nice. Padfoot and hubby are currently curled up watching The Price is Right while I'm on a conference call and working. Just a sweet picture!

I never have two good days in a row, but today I

1) found extra money in my purse--always good
2) sold my two air conditioners for $50
3) got chosen as chair of a committee at work

Spending 4th of July in Key West, and it is actually cooler than the record breaking triple digit weather we had in Atlanta.

Old Siddy girl has been a bit better with her hip, but 104-degree temps outside are doing their damndest to ruin her appetite. She went three days without eating, but finally just munched up a bit of breakfast. She's now snoozing nicely a yard or so from my feet. Dear old thing.

I have PLOUGHED through fifty pages worth of editing in less than a week, and intend to spend today doing more of the same.

Interest in HF: started in childhood with the classics, which, IMHO are HF even if they were contemporary when written.
Favourite HF book: Prince of Foxes, by Samuel Shellabarger
Preferred HF: Currently prefer 1600 and earlier, but I'll read anything that keeps me turning the page.

Yesterday a part of my story that was a total slog for two months got unstuck, and I did 2,897 words. Today I'm still on a roll, my head is firmly in the sixteenth century, and writing is fun again!

Downside is, what was going to be a short story, and then a novella, is probably going to wrap up at 70K. I don't seem to be able to write in a short format, no matter how close to the bone I cut all but the most essential scenes.

Oh I'm sorry. Padfoot sends plenty of licks and tail wagging in the hopes that Siddy feels better soon. If it makes you feel any better, Padfoot isn't really interested in eating his food either. He doesn't mind his biscuits or doggy ice cream he had yesterday, but food just isn't for him right now. Has to be the heat!

I hope Siddy and Padfoot both feel better soon. Has Padfoot been in his pool again?
