That happens a lot, but usually the reviewer gets a good chastising for doing it. You poor authors are at the mercy of us mean old Amazon customers, aren't you? :) :o
Yes, yes, probably we should get free Amazon gift cards, don't you think? ;)

I am glad, though, that Amazon doesn't let reviews like that slide--I hadn't realized that.

Kudos to EC on "does not compute."

I went back to the review and hit the Report button.

Me too. It's a review of the publisher, not the book.

One-star reviews of sellers shipping late, etc, are just plain lazy because Amazon has an excellent rating system and emails buyers to invite them to use it.

That's actually the dumbest place to complain about shipping service, product quality. Customer service is not going to see it there. It does work to complain about book quality, etc. on used books via the Amazon shippers. I ended up getting some money back (partial refund) on a used PB advertised as very good condition and the cover was partially lose.
At home with a good book and the cat...
...is the only place I want to be

I've been lucky enough not to have any such problems with my used books from Amazon sellers. If I did I'd contact the seller direct. But I always rate the seller in any case to help other customers. I've found sellers with good ratings usually are okay to deal with.
