I know it had Queen in the title...

Hundreds of historical novels have "king" or "queen" in the title, but without seeing the cover or description, how do you know which monarch a book's about? Miss Moppet and other members have compiled this list to help you.

The list on the first page mentions the queen who figures in the title, who's not necessarily the main character. If you read through the entire thread, though, the various posts do say whether or not the queen is a main character.

Welcome to the board, by the way!

Behold your Queen by Gladys Malvern

The queen is Queen Esther, wife to Persian King Ahasuerus

Esther is the main character.

No alternate title that I know of.

This was one of the first historical fiction books I remember reading and one of the ones that got me hooked on the genre.

Just when you thought it was safe to go out, news of a forthcoming title by the indefatigable Christopher Nicole aka Alan Savage aka etc, set in India during the Indian Mutiny- Queen of Glory (Pretty cover, though)

Synopsis:
As the Indian Mutiny takes hold, one woman will establish her place in history for ever . . . India, 1857. Aged just twenty-one, Lakshmi Bai, otherwise known as Manu, the widowed and recently deposed Rani of Jhansi, finds herself embroiled in the developing Indian Mutiny. Torn between leading Jhansi into battle or following the advice of her close friend and confidante, Emma Hammond, a tragic succession of events is triggered as the Mutiny comes to a head and Manu faces her destiny: one which will see her crowned as India’s queen of glory.

Lakshmi Bai, the Rani of Jhansi was an actual historical figure.

Hello Miss Moppet,

What has happened to Lady Moppet, KJ, Oscar, Belle Belle, Thor, et al? I miss them so much! I have contacted Little Prince and Princesses but they seem to have lost contact with them. Do you know where they are?
