Nero / Early Christian Church
I am looking for a book I read about 18 years ago. I think it was a book that was older at the time (written maybe 1940's or 1950's). It was set during the reign of Nero and the book of Acts in the Bible. I think many of the characters were historical characters from the book of Acts. Unfortunately that is about all I can remember right now but I think I would recognize it. I've not been able to locate a possible title or author for this. Hoping you guys can help!

- Interest in HF: started in childhood with the classics, which, IMHO are HF even if they were contemporary when written.
- Favourite HF book: Prince of Foxes, by Samuel Shellabarger
- Preferred HF: Currently prefer 1600 and earlier, but I'll read anything that keeps me turning the page.

The novel is likely Quo Vadis, by unpronounceable Polish guy. Here's the link:

Alternately, it might have been the Silver Chalice, by Thomas Costain.

Or maybe The Robe, by Douglas, but that was under Caligula.

I appreciate your ideas. I don't think it was as well known as those (at least it hasn't been made into a movie)

Maybe Francine Rivers' Roman series? Not that old-- I think 1980s. But the first one is A Voice in the Wind.

I think it may have been a Youth book? I wish I could remember more.
