I read Mr Brigg's Hat when it first came out and thought it quite fascinating.

It made me question whether Muller was actually guilty or not, but there was a lot of circumstantial evidence against him.

October 2012 22
"Dr. Johnson's London" by Liza Picard (337pgs, 2001) (10/1)*
"Princess Louise: Queen Victoria's Unconventional Daughter" by Jehanne Wake (414pgs, 1998orig, 2012ed) (10/3)* (K) - The character of Louise in the novel "The Wild Princess" by Mary Hart Perry was hardly recognizable to the real woman and her real life it was very loosely based on. Her next book is on Beatrice, I'll probably read it and then read the biography about her after.
"The Stories Behind London's Streets Pt #1" by Peter Thurgood (357pgs, 2011) (10/6)* (K)
"I, Jane: In the Court of Henry VIII" by Diane Haeger (389pgs, 2012) (10/9) - It was ok. A couple of anachronism though! She has Catherine of Aragon and ladies hearing from the Book of Common Prayer, she was dead 16 years before it came out! And Anne Boleyn talks having her head on a spike on Tower Bridge, which wasn't built until the late 1800s.
"Haunted Ground: Nora Gavin/Cormac Maguire Mystery #1" by Erin Hart (475pgs, 2004) (10/10)
"The First Detective: The Life and Revolutionary Times of Vidocq, Criminal, Spy, and Private Eye" by James Morton (251pgs, 2004) (10/12)
"Consuming Splendor: Society and Culture in Seventeenth-Century England" by Linda Levy Peck (359pgs, 2005) (10/13)*
"The Encyclopedia of Ancient History" by Charlotte Hurdman, Richard Tames, Philip Steele, Fiona MacDonald (498pgs, 2011) (10/13)*
"Near A Thousand Tables: A History of Food" by Felipe Fernández-Armesto (228pgs, 2004) (10/13)*
"If Walls Could Talk: A Haunted Renovation Mystery #1" by Juliet Blackwell (316pgs, 2010) (10/14)
"The Pig-Faced Lady of Manchester Square & Other Medical Marvels" by Jan Bondeson (283pgs, 2004) (10/16)*
"The Making of Victorian Sexuality" by Michael Mason (306pgs, 1994) (10/18)*
"501 Movie Stars" General Editor - Steven Jay Schneider (628pgs, 2007) (10/20)*
"Mistress of Mourning" by Karen Harper (377pgs, 2012) (10/20)* - Good mystery, but not spectacular.
"The Secret Life of Aphra Behn" by Janet Todd (467pgs, 1996) (10/21)* (Not a novel)
"The Purple Shroud: A Novel of Empress Theodora" by Stella Duffy (394pgs, 2012) (10/22) - Very good follow up and final to her first book "Theodora: Actress, Empress, Whore".
"Water Witch: Fairwick Chronicles #2" by Carol Goodman (339, 2012) (10/26)*
"One Grave Less: Diane Fallon Forensic Investigation #9" by Beverly Connor (391pgs, 2010) (10/26)* (K)
"Richard III (Yale English Monarchs)" by Charles Derek Ross (301pgs, 1981) (10/27)*
"In the Pleasure Groove: Love, Death & Duran Duran" by John Taylor w/Tom Sykes (416pgs, 2012) (10/29)* (K) - John is my favourite member of the band since I was 11, good book, interesting to see how he has viewed his life and career.
"Encyclopedia of the Exquisite: An Anecdotal History of Elegant Delights" of Jessica Kerwin Jenkins (266pgs, 2010) (10/30)*
"Lasher: The Mayfair Witches #2" by Anne Rice (629pgs, 1993) (10/30)*
Pages: 8421 - 382pgs aver (5 BF, 17 Own (4 Kindle))
