This has been a bad reading month, but I finally did finish Adrian Goldsworthy's Antony and Cleopatra (NF). Very well written and informative. A little dry, but full of meat.

Finished Frances Clark's novel Jane Seymour, published in the 1970's. It's well written and well researched, and its characters are three-dimensional, not the usual Tudor stereotypes. I particularly enjoyed the appearances by Jane's brothers Edward and Thomas, and the subplot involving Edward Seymour's first marriage.
Also speaking of Jane Seymour, I read Elizabeth Norton's biography of her this month. I know that not much material is available on Jane, but I did feel that the author could have dug a little deeper, perhaps, and given us fewer sentences beginning, "Jane must have felt . . ."

Finished Jean Plaidy's The Murder in the Tower tonight. It's about the affair between Frances Howard and Robert Carr, a favorite of James I. I found it fast-paced, and it was an interesting look at an episode I knew very little about.

There's a nonfiction about it by Anne Somerset called "Unnatural Murder: Poison At the Court Of James l".

Have you read Cleopatra and Antony by Diana Preston? I rather liked that one.

Into battle we ride with Gods by our side
We are strong and not afraid to die
We have an urge to kill and our lust for blood has to be fulfilled
WE´LL FIGHT TILL THE END! And send our enemies straight to Hell!
