Interest in HF: started in childhood with the classics, which, IMHO are HF even if they were contemporary when written.
Favourite HF book: Prince of Foxes, by Samuel Shellabarger
Preferred HF: Currently prefer 1600 and earlier, but I'll read anything that keeps me turning the page.

I don't know if this counts, as they aren't things per se--but I collect real stories about people. I started when I was interviewing for a member newsletter, and I would always ask, "What is the most exciting/interesting thing that ever happened to you? Of what are you most proud?"

I started a file of those vignettes, which expanded when I wrote fund-raising letters for a local homeless shelter, and then reports for our transition home. Now I do write-ups for various organizations that help stop global human trafficking, and some of those stories are beyond belief awful and/or miraculous. Plus I like to add in historical bits about people I come across in my research.

It's a good thing the whole lot is digital, because I now have over twenty years' worth!

Also, truth is much stranger than fiction. Many of these stories would have to be 'watered down' for re-use, because readers would find many of them 'too far a stretch'.
