How was Secret life of the mongol queens? That one looks very intresting. And that's quite a stack of books -- very impressive!

I'm a poor sounding board on books like these. I'm always underwhelmed. I think because most historical biographical works are deliberately (and logically) kept more general than I prefer. I think the internet and the vast array of resources that is always increasing has pretty much ruined me for most historical references that are published with mainstream consumption (of sorts) in mind. Also the arc I received was lacking the additional material that, for me, makes history fun (maps, notes etc.). Which meant I was jumping online anyway to pull something up that I wanted expanded or defined further.
