The Demon-Haunted World by Carl Sagan
This is a brilliant book and the section on medieval witch-hunts a real eye-opener. Thought provoking stuff which makes sobering reading, especially given the current worldwide rise in dangerously superstitious fundamentalism.

I'm reading Connie Willis's Doomsday Book. I've had it forever but haven't gotten around to it yet. I was thinking about putting it aside for Sunne by SKP but I'm really liking this book with only a few dozen pages down so far. Sunne will be next though!

Finished re-reading Rose without a Thorn by Plaidy on my Metro ride home. I liked Plaidy's telling of Katherine Howard's life story. By comparison to Phillippa's The Boleyn Inheritance, this one allows for Katherine to reflect on events in her life. A few events were differently done as well. And Anne Boleyn's shadow isn't far behind...

Truly enjoyed this book, which I read several years ago. Don't miss To Say Nothing of the Dog which is set in the same universe, but absolutely hilarious (unlike the dark Doomsday Book.)
Devoured Incubus by Carol Goodman in 2 days. (5/5)I'm still openmounted with the end and I hope she's writing the next book really fast. Very good. Much better than the overstuffed A Discovery of Witches.
Now reading The Birth of Blue Satan by Patricia Wynn. Mystery set in the 1700s. Good so far.
I've just read a review of the first book in a series by Carol Goodman's alter ego, Lee Carroll (ie her and her hubby) - Black Swan Rising - and it mentioned that Melusine, who I think will be familiar to one or two of you ;) features quite strongly!

It really is. I'm reading Dragons of Eden next.
