The last Sookie Stackhouse (for the moment :) ) 'Dead Reckoning' by Charlaine Harris - then I think it's gonna be an Elizabeth Chadwick book.

A Dark Anatomy, by Robin Blake. A coroner and his doctor friend struggle to solve a murder with dark undercurrents in mid-18th century rural England. Excellent period sensibility and an engrossing mystery.
The paperback is out this week if that's any help ;)

Nearly finished Clan of the Cave Bear & found it surprisingly enjoyable. Current NF read:Bounce: The Myth of Talent and the Power of Practice by Matthew Syed. Ostensibly a sports book, this is a must-read for any writer in need of inspiration or encouragement... :D
Well, I might as well read it now. Not sure about it so far but that could change.

Started Sins of the House of Borgia last night. A charater list would have been extremely helpful to keep all of the people straight, but it's good otherwise.

I'm reading an ARC of Susan Meissner's A Sound Among the Trees, due out this October. It's a lovely Southern gothic with contemporary women trying to sort out the truth of what happened at their home during the American Civil War. Very enjoyable read so far.

It is good, though the main character was annoying at first but I put that down to her young age, mid-teens. I didn't notice a lot of characters to keep track of, not excessively.
