Reading a classic SF for a break: Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card. It moved from "commuting book" to "fireside book" because it grabbed me.
Ender's Game is fantastic - I couldn't tell you how many people I've recommended it to over the years. Stunning twist at the end.

A friend gave me a copy of The Court of the Lion, a huge doorstopper that she promised I would love. According to many reviewers, its HF at its best. Anyone familiar with this one?

I've read it, although it was some time ago. It's a doorstopper, all right. The thing I remember most about it is that at some point the penny dropped and I realized I was reading the historical events (well, a fictionalization of the historical events) upon which the play in Kathleen Winsor's Calais is based--An Lu Shan and Jade Ring--the one Arlette is obsessed with and constantly quoting from. For me that added an extra layer of interest.

I just read Moneyball which was totally awesome. I'm also about to start the 3rd Hunger Games book, which I'm totally not a fan of at all but I've come this far, so I must finish.

What happened to March? Is this groundhog month revisited?
