I've finished "London: 2000 Years of A City & It's People" by Felix Barker & Peter Jackson (371pgs, 1974)*. A very interesting and image full book about how the look of London has changed over the centuries.
Susan: It has 2 picture sections of coloured images, each are 8 pages. Does Kindle not allow you to see images?
Thanks, Sonja Marie. Any image will be smaller on a Kindle which is a disadvantage. I am using it for fiction books and it is fine for that. Actually I find it easier on my eyes and I can read at a faster rate. I had decided when I bought the Kindle that I would purchase non-fiction books (mostly royalty related), so I will purchase the book in question. What I really like about the Kindle is that it has a free 4G internet connection. I can be in bed reading some historical fiction on my Kindle and can look up something from the novel online right from the Kindle. There is also a great dictionary feature...put the cursor in front of a word and the definition appears at the bottom of the page.

Fun read --I Capture the Castle. I've never read it, and everybody seems to like it. From paperbackswap, my first order.

Latro in the Mist by Gene Wolfe, an omnibus of two novels. Interesting so far; a mix of Momento and Sixth Sense with "I see gods" instead of "I see dead people" (although he sees those as well!) set in ancient Greece.

Just over half way through 'Kathryn in the Court of Six Queens' by Anne Merton Abbey and starting to lose a bit of interest really. It's not helped that I've been ill the past couple of days and not read anything at all, but I'm starting to struggle with the de Gael witchcraft and the 'Green King' thing, with a son of the lord having to die to save the land. Which is a shame because I really enjoyed the book to start with! Still, there's plenty of time for it to grab my interest again, 200+ pages... :p

Just starting The Princess of Nowhere by Prince Lorenzo Borghese. A lucky win off of Librarything.

PS, those on Goodreads there is a giveaway for the book currently open to entrants.
I'll be interested to know what you think of Heresy, Chris. Giordano Bruno fascinates me - I suspect I wanted her to fill out the novel with all the stuff her publisher told her to cut! But I still enjoyed it. (Review here.)
I'll let you know! I have to review it, too. I got a Vine copy, then bought it (my OCD with books: why keep an ARC when I can have a finished copy? :)
and I'm just now getting around to reading it.

So far, I'm liking it. The first few chapters felt a bit overstuffed with philosophical rhetoric - not that I mind that, just I hadn't a good enough feel for the characters yet - but now, it's getting juicy. Mercer has just been torn apart by the wolfhound and Bruno is on the case.

I'll read your review when I'm done, 'cause I don't want to know anything in advance.
