I really enjoyed the Czalet saga until I read a biography of Elizabeth Jane Howard and it was basically her family history!!
I didn't know that. I know that "Falling" is based on her own experience, I have that one too, it was filmed a few years ago, worth watching if you can get a copy of it.

Which book did you find a dud?
Thanks for the tip. I also checked this book in Amazon under its British title, and the reviews there (though only 3) were all positive, also. So I've decided to give it a try.

There's another Bronte book I've seen out called "Romancing Miss Bronte." If you or anyone you know has read it, I'd like to know what you thought.

The dud I tried was "Becoming Jane Eyre" by Sheila Kohler. A real loser, I only gave it two stars.
And actually, one of those gushing reviews is by Harriett. So that doesn't even count.....
No, no. She uses her real name so you must take them seriously.

I am liking the book, I just got side-tracked and taking it slower. About half-way through and I suspect I'll come down with the same opinions as BB and the four-star reviewer on Ammy.

I had one of the other Bronte books out from the lib (Romancing I think) and it didn't grab me and I returned it unread.
At home with a good book and the cat...
