Post by Divia » Thu August 20th, 2009, 7:05 pm

Today on my Amazon vine I had Cleopatra's Daughter on my wish. :)

It will be interesting to see what the viners have to say.

Wasn't on my list. I got some book about Louis XIV but I suspect it might end up being a dud.

It means your publisher must be giving away free copies to Amazon's Vine program because your book is listed. That means the viners get to preview your book before anyone else does and then post reviews.

I saw that book misfit I was on the fence about it.

I grabbed an Alcott book that is on my wishlist I am so flippin happy. There were so many choices today I just didnt know what to do with myself!

WOW. Nice of them to tell me! Ha-ha. Maybe it popped up today because the books were printed this week. They're being shipped out on Monday (or so) to reviewers. I'm very excited!!!!

And for anyone with teens in their family, we're hosting a Teen Contest on my site!

RE: the contest

I should add that the reviews obviously don't have to be positive, just truthful. Any review counts, and all are considered equally. In fact, it's a random generator that picks the winner.

What is the book about Louis XIV? NF? HF?

A Prisoner of Versailles
By: Golden Keyes Parsons

Category: Book , American Historical Fiction

Madeleine's faith puts her at odds with an intimidating rival: King Louis XIV.

Having fled their homeland of France because of the persecution by Louis XIV, the Clavell family seeks refuge in Switzerland. However, the king is not about to let the recently widowed Madeleine, his childhood sweetheart, escape that easily. He sends musketeers to kidnap her and her oldest son, Philippe, holding them captive in his opulent palace. King Louis is suspicious that Philippe could be his son, and he's enraged by the growing affection of one of his courtiers for Madeleine.

Will Madeleine escape the king with her life or lose everything that she's fought so hard to keep?

Huh. They're categorizing it as American historical fiction? How odd.
