Still reading Matriarch, which is turning out to be pretty good, and have started A Place Beyond Courage (finally!), and trying not to stay up too late.

Does anyone else bounce between fiction and nonfiction?

[quote=""lama""]I'm re-reading Affinity by Sarah Waters. I see something new in it every time!

I am very much a fan of Sarah Waters. Fingersmith is my favourite of her novels, that one simply blew me away. I've tried reading Affinity but I had made the mistake of reading it right after Fingersmith, and couldn't finish it. I still intend to read it. Glad to hear that she has a new one coming out.

"The Independence of Miss Mary Bennet"by Colleen McCullough.
Mary is the least well known of Jane Austen's famous Bennet family. In "Pride & Prejudice" she appears as a rather stodgy little figure with an irritatingly sententious phrase for every occasion, but she comes into her own in CM's latest book.
Mr Darcy, however, shows his dark side- some fans may not approve!

I've finished "The Awful Truths - Famous Myths, Hilariously Debunked" by Brian Thomsen. An interesting book but not as hilarious as the title might lead you to believe. Most of the myths I already knew about. A fast read.

I've got and read that one. Makes for deliciously gruesome reading at times! I don't always agree with his conclusions, but in general it's an entertaining and erudite but fun read!
