I'll be off to Xanten (the Roman Castra Vetera) and Mainz (Moguntiacum) in two weeks. Lots of Roman stuff, I hope, and probably a cathedral or two and a castle on top of it.

Wow, I haven't updated this thread for ages. My post list since the last announcement would be pretty long - you know what, just go to the blog and look what I got. :D

Don't know how I missed this the first time around. Gabriele, I'm just a wee bit jealous. I would love to live in Germany! Maybe now that I'm about to be happily single again, I will try it. I've bookmarked your site so I can come back when I have more time.
Browse over 5000 historical novel listings (probably well over 5000 by now, but I haven't re-counted lately) and over 700 reviews at www.HistoricalNovels.info

I'm back from a three weeks tour through Norway with some Copenhagen / Roskilde thrown in for good measure. Got Viking ships, two cathedrals, some fortresses , a bunch of Hansa houses, and lots of landscape for you. :)

those are fabulous photos. I like the Arctic Cathedral, although not the opera house, but what an interesting mix of architectural styles; and of course the natural wonders out-do them all.

Thanks for posting them.

I really let that place slip, sorry.

Updated my travel list again. Dear me, the places I've seen and the photos I took will give me material for some 10 years of blogging if I countinue to post so seldom. But money work gets in the way of blogging (and research I need to do for my posts) sometimes. Too often of late. :(

And back again from a tour to Northumbria (it included places within the ancient borders of that area), the Scottish east coast, and Orkney. See my list on page 1 for updates and my blog for photos. :) There will be more the days to come.
