How was Mutiny on the Bounty?

Well, I really enjoyed it but I hated the main character at first, he seemed such a cocky wide boy, a real stereotypical "chirpy cockney" geezer.
I stuck with it though and ended up enjoying it, it showed Captain Bligh in a totally different way than he is usually portrayed, normally Captain Bligh seems to be the "bad guy" while Fletcher Christian is the saintly "good guy", this book turned things around.
I think I would recommend it, it wasn't a heavy read but it was entertaining.

John Boyne is coming to the Melbourne Writer's Festival in August, and I am contemplating going to listen to him talk. I just recently bought his latest book, House of Special Purpose.
