How was the Hauger book? I keep thinking about getting it, but so far haven't.

I've read that one, this is what I said about it when I finished it last year...

I enjoyed it, but it really wasn't anything I hadn't read elsewhere before. I did like his writing style, not taking everything extremely seriously. My favourite example of this: Chapter Heading - "Did Secret Agents Assassinate Princess Diana?". First paragraph of chapter - "Shape-changing reptile space-travelers from another dimension murdered Princess Diana. At least, that's one theory out of the many that have tried to explain her death." And that theory has had an entire book written/published about it

And each chapter gives a list of further recommended reading, which is always useful.

April 2009

Grave Surprise - Charlaine Harris
Jane Boleyn: The Infamous Lady Rochford - Julia Fox (nf)
The Marsh-King's Daughter - Elizabeth Chadwick
The Corinthian - Georgette Heyer (reread)
The Big Book of Bad Guys - ed. (nf)
The Luxe - Amanda Goodberg(?) (fairly dreadful, I've been reading it at the bookstore for a few months, but have finally struggled through to the end - not going to bother with the sequels tho!)

The Fire - Katherine Neville (sequel to The Eight, but not nearly as good)[/quote] I completely agree. I was very disappointed on the whole and ended up skimming to get through to the end. A Calculated Risk is the only one of her other novels I really enjoyed.
We are the music makers, And we are the dreamers of dreams ~ Arthur O'Shaughnessy, Ode
