Early research or indulgence?

Post by writerinthenorth » Thu September 8th, 2011, 12:11 pm

I've recently finished my novel about George and Robert Stephenson, and am reading around for a new subject. Or am I just procrastinating? That's the subject of my blog post today at Writer in the North.

Congratulations on finishing the novel. I can't wait to read it! Good luck with the query process.

And no, I don't think you are wasting your time. Read. Read. Read. Something will pop out - it always does! And you deserve a break now . . .

I was in the same spot just a few weeks back. The research was just so fun that I wondered if I was only goofing around without a proper direction until the ideas just started coming together. I have a new premise that I love and it grew from my seemingly random reading. Weird how that happens. Have a great time reading!

No, you're not procrastinating. You need time to wind down, recuperate, and find your spark again.
