My students hate inconclusive endings. Well, that's the general feeling anyway. By the time you'll read this I'll be dead, is a good example of that. You dont know if the girl lives or dies and a lot of my students felt cheated. they loved the book, hated the ending.

Not sure I can do one with this story. Now, the other WIP I was working on had one. But that one was generally a happy one.

How about an ending that is not inconclusive per se, but does leave just a hint of mystery on some point. That way readers who want different widely disparrate futures for the characters concerned can choose to believe it went the way they would prefer.

Two things are left unresloved in the story. The reader doesnt know what happens to two characters. The MCs future hinges on one, but for the most part the reader knows where she is going.

Interest in HF: I can't answer this in 100 characters. Sorry.
Favourite HF book: Checkmate, the final novel in the Lymond series
Preferred HF: Literary novels. Late medieval and Renaissance.

Seems like a good balance to me.
Browse over 5000 historical novel listings (probably well over 5000 by now, but I haven't re-counted lately) and over 700 reviews at www.HistoricalNovels.info
