I see you read a few PG's. For me, her tendency towards the incest thing is a little too much for me (ie: Wideacre and TOBG), but I must applaud her work for attacting many new readers to the Historical Fiction gendre. I am curious to know what you think of her novels?

Yes :) These are my pleasure reads; I didn't read my own books this year (but I wrote them, and edited them!) Just in case anyone doesn't know yet, I wrote THE LAST QUEEN and THE SECRET LION.

I agree about the incest obsession. I read Boleyn Inheritance for fun, and I enjoyed it - but I don't nurse a passionate attachment to Jane Rochford, Anne of Cleves, or Catherine Howard. I selected The Wise Woman as a review assignment and unfortunately wasn't thrilled.

I prefer other hf writers.

I have requested my library to order both of these books, to no avail. So, I am purchasing them through Chapers online. You got a 5 star rating on both by the way, so I am very eager for them to come in! :D

I have to agree with you on PG. If you read her purely for entertainment value, she does a pretty good job. But definitely not my favorite Historical Fiction writer.

Oh, thank you so much. Lots of libraries have THE LAST QUEEN because it's published by Random House; but not so many have THE SECRET LION, as it's published by a very small press. Sorry your library won't / can't order them but I really appreciate the sale and I hope you enjoy them! I'd be happy to discuss / answer any questions you have about them.

Hi CW, Sorry if this has been answered before but I just had a look at your beautiful website and found myself dying to read Juana La Loca! Is it published yet, because I don't think I've seen it in the shops. Is it available to buy online?

I really need to get around to reading this. It's on the pile, but the library holds keep showing up at the most inconvenient times and they take precedence, especially if others are waiting for the same book ;)

I just finished Plaidy's To Hold the Crown and Juana and Phillips were minor characters in the latter half and it's stirred up my interest in Juana's story.
