My (non-headless) magazine cover

Post by Ariadne » Tue November 4th, 2008, 4:24 pm

Bookmarks Magazine made my latest article the cover story of their November/December issue. Here's what the cover looks like (thumbnail below).

According to the credit line, the image is "Shakespeare Reading to Queen Elizabeth I" by John James Chalon. I got my extras of the magazine yesterday, and the article takes up nine pages (well, one of them is an interview with Philippa Gregory - conducted by the editors). It's about popular trends in historical fiction, benchmark titles, and some of the best examples. I'm sure there will be disagreement! They laid out the entire piece on a parchment-style background with lots of book cover images. I like it. It's not online yet but probably will be sometime down the road.

I'm hoping it's in bookstores now. The Borders in Champaign had the previous issue displayed on Sunday, but Tuesdays seem to be the days new things appear on the shelves.

Thanks, all!

I'll post when they put it online - it'll be sometime after January (when it's not sold in shops anymore).
