My Very Own Headless Woman Cover!
I was stumbling around the Web tonight and found that some online sites have the 2009 edition of The Traitor's Wife listed (published by Sourcebooks, which is reissuing some of Georgette Heyer's and Margaret Campbell Barnes' novels, among others). So check out my cover girl!
Wow - what an eye-catching cover!!!! Congratulations!
But how can they change it without telling you?
[edited to say: I think I misread. You knew about the cover... Just not about the posting of it, right?]
Thanks, ladies!
I got a look at the new cover back in September, but since the pre-order page for the new edition (new publisher with some minor revisions) hasn't shown up on Amazon US yet, I wasn't aware that it was showing up anywhere on the web yet. I'll have to update my own website now!
Oh, and I see now it is on Amazon US! This has given me something to look at tonight besides election news.

Great cover! Very unusual. Congrats, Susan! Maybe it'll set a new trend: the "ear" cover: ) I can't wait to see it in stores, and of course I'll buy it, too, though I'll always treasure the first version, certain to now fetch a pretty penny on e-bay.
I just heard from Ballantine that I too am getting a woman-in-a-gown cover for the trade paperback of The Last Queen, probably something along the lines of the re-designed UK cover. I'm pleased. I think these types of covers tend to attract more reader interest. If all goes according to UK cover formula, I'll have a semi-headless woman in flowing flame-colored gown. Yummy.

When you click on the new cover on Amazon UK for an enlargement, your old cover comes up!
I like it - especially the earring! It's interesting that all these covers are focussing on clothes and jewellery. Obviously this is what is selling to the public and something we've known for a while - admiration of earring being a case in point! Do you like it Boswell? Are you pleased with it yourself?
I am awaiting with interest to see what Source do for their authors of historical fiction now they are building their lists. Helen Hollick wasn't that struck on the Arthurian one Source have done for her, but said it was better than her first ever cover which she has always called 'The Purple Puke.' I've only heard her describe her Source cover, haven't seen it yet.
