Author of the Month

Post by donroc » Sat October 25th, 2008, 1:42 pm

I have been invited to be November Author of the Month on the Shelfari site, Chiller group, for discussion of my contemporary horror novel, A GATHERING OF VULTURES, DarkHart Press, inspired by our experiences as amateur ballroom dancers and our time living in the locale where the novel mostly takes place.

It does include some historical material relating to the history and mythology of vulture worship.

The protagonists are an ambitious ballroom dance couple who visit friends on one of the most beautiful, scenic islands in the world, Santa Catarina off the coast of Brazil with Florianópolis, a city that resembles in part San Francisco, and a variety of beaches from sweeping crescents to craggy.

There they encounter mysterious women who resemble the wife and each other and a sinister sub-speciies of the black vulture. The women off my MCs perfect health and exceptionally long life, but at a terrible price.

Please drop by for a visit if you have the time and also check for more information on my web site: http://www.donaldmichaelplatt.com
