The Kitchen House by Kathleen Grissom prominently features slaves.

Wench by Dolen Perkins-Valdez seems very interesting. A whole new take on the moral intricacies of enslaved women as mistresses.
I blog about all things writing and historical at Caroline Wilson Writes!

I'm also on Facebook, Twitter, and Goodreads!

Now Available: "Rebel Heart," a romantic historical fiction set in Civil War America and Victorian England.

Available at Amazon

A friend of mine is planning a book on the indentured Scots and Irish.

I've been trying to steer him in the direction of the Scots POW during the English Civil War sold into slavery to America. Bought from the prison camps for £3, transported for £2 then sold for £32.

A lucrative way of dealing with a problem and always overlooked when slavery is mentioned.
