Film San Francisco 1906

Post by donroc » Fri July 30th, 2010, 2:44 pm

San Francisco 1906, some months before the earthquake. Traffic was chaotic, there were no rules of priority nor traffic lights; cars were driven from the right side!!

I enjoyed watching the dress of the pedestrians.

The camera was fixed in front of a tram.

I tried to click the link but it says EMI has blocked the content in my country (which is the U.S.) on copyright grounds.
Is the footage you mention perhaps the same or similar to this:

I'd love to know if there is more footage like this out there.
DANCING AT THE CHANCE, love and vaudeville in Old New York (Berkley/April)
THE BELLY DANCER, a novel of the 1893 Chicago World's Fair (Berkley/out now)
