Interest in HF: The first historical novel I read was Katherine by Anya Seton and this sparked off my interest in this genre.
Favourite HF book: Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell!

Ya beat me to it, EC. A friend just sent me the link. I've also looked at Simon's website. It's got a nice video about how he got started and the work it takes to make one of these animated shorts. He's also on Facebook and Twitter and has a book out about the animated story.
