I am from Toronto and am thrilled to discover an online forum to discuss historical fiction and history in general with fellow enthusiasts. My friends - who are not into the subject at all - will be glad to know I have a new outlet, and won't be bending their ears as much anymore!

Growing up on movies like Ben-Hur and The Vikings fueled my passion for history and inspired me to enter the film industry myself. In those far-gone, primitive days before DVDs, we were all slaves to the whims of local tv schedulers, so in the long cold months between showings of my favourite movies, I turned to books. Taylor Caldwell, Rosemary Sutcliff, Ernest Gann, Robert Shea - they were my gateways to the past.

The film business demands a lot of one's time, so I am probably not as widely read as I would like to be, but I have a fondness for the obscure and the forgotten which I hope might bring to light a few items not commonly known. In that vein, I'd like to post a thread about a medium overlooked by many these days - radio drama. For years I ran a website about old radio shows, and in the process came across many historical dramas (the BBC make the best!) - that is, unless such a discussion already exists somewhere here...?
