Hi everyone!!

Hi! I am Allie and I just recently signed up for the website! Historical fiction is a pretty resecent obsession of mine. It began with me picking up Pillars of the Earth on a random day at Target because I loved big chunky novels and the blurb on the back interested me. Then Hurricane Ike (2008) hit here in Houston. Needless to say I was without power and any other form of entertainment for 11 days and became completely involved with the medieval world Follet portrayed. I know a lot of people dislike Pillars, but hey it got me into this wonderful genre and reading all the time again! I loooove being able to escape to a different time and place and perhaps learn something new at the same time. I am working on my Masters degree at night and I work full time, but I manage to get at least a couple books a month in. My husband is starting to worry about the 80+ HF novels that I have bought in the past year that are sitting on our bookshelf. I buy books much faster than I read them! My TBR on Goodreads is ridiculous and it is primarily all HF. Right now I am reading The Greatest Knight by Elizabeth Chadwick and loving it. Enough rambling! Hi everyone great to meet you all and I look forward to discussing HF! :o

If you hang around this forum you will buy a lot more books, you get so many good recommendations about more books to buy,and have so much less reading time as you are following interesting threads.I know from experience, my tbr pile is getting bigger, nearly every time I visit I end up ordering some more books.
