Hi

Post by ellieaenor » Mon November 2nd, 2009, 2:45 am

My name is Ellie, and I joined HFO in the beginning of August. Like Hansel and Gretel, I followed the crumbs scattered in my favorite blogs, and I ended up here. I have done my own genealogical research for years ( pre Internet) and imagine my surprise when I discovered all the HF written about my ancestors! Names that had been familiar to me for years came alive in the pages of well researched, well written fiction......OK, so most of it, or some of it, or maybe just a small part of it was actually researched, but it was there.
In any case, the advent of the Internet has opened up a new world for me. Finding friends to discus the reading, and writing of historical works is a blessing, and I thank you. 3 :)
PS Travelling, backpacking, gardening, hoseback riding, cat loving, grandmother of four.

Favourite HF book: Prince of Foxes, by Samuel Shellabarger
Preferred HF: Currently prefer 1600 and earlier, but I'll read anything that keeps me turning the page.
Location: California Bay Area

Welcome, Ellie! Is that one of the grandkids in your avatar? Or are you a very young-looking Grandma?
