Newbie saying hello...

Post by Chatterbox » Thu April 23rd, 2009, 5:56 pm

Hiya,

I'm Chatterbox, aka Suzanne. My addiction to HF dates back to the age of 8 or 9, when a teacher at my school in England gave me books by Heyer and Plaidy. (My mother blinked a few times, looked slightly surprised, but to her credit said absolutely nothing when I proceeded to spend all my pocket money on 'grownup' books from then on). Read "Katherine" at 10, GWTW at 11 or 12, and have never stopped reading...

I have always dreamed of writing HF novels (when I ran out of books to read on family trips, I started trying to write my own, full of the usual cliches. (Argh, can't get accent marks functioning...) These days I do make my living from writing, but as a journalist. I'm working on my first narrative NF book now, and have another proposal ready to make the rounds once the publisher signs off on the work-in-progress.

Arrived here courtesy of Misfit!

Glad to be here -- and I am a pro at rationalizing the *time suck* elements... :D
