Finally finished Becoming Jane which isn't bad as long as you're not expecting a true-life story. I kind of wish they'd changed all the names. It would stand much better as it's own completely fictional story. Very impressed with James McAvoy. I may have to rewatch LLW to see if there's any brilliant subtext to Mr. Tumnus.

We rented two tonight:

Hubby's choice: The Spirit. He fell asleep (always comatose by 9.30); I turned it down low so I could read my book.

My choice (for tomorrow night :D ) Australia. Hugh Jackman, Nicole Kidman. Im looking forward to it!

Watched "The Wrestler".....20 minutes....Had to stop, MR's acting was alright, but the culture and the storyline was predictable and not appealing....I dislike Professional Wrestling with a passion....and that really got in the way....

Nick and Miri make a porno. Dude, I laughed so hard. But some people would find it offensive.

The House of Mirth starring Gillian Anderson and Eric Stoltz. Loved the 1905 New York period costumes. Can't say I've received any great incentive to read Edith Wharton as a result though.

Oh, the book is wonderful! Haven't seen the film, I'll have to add it to my list.

So, I loved Australia. Hubby nitpicked anything touching on the Japanese offensive, being a WWII buff. I do have a question for our Aussie friends though - How was this movie received at home? To me, it looked like a labour of love - not simply the love story, but with regards to the resepct for the Aboriginal culture, but was it taken as such?

I liked the movie a lot - Gillian Anderson is excellent as the central character.
