I watched the film Mistress of Spices, adapted from the novel by Chitra Divakaruni. It was ok, but I suspect that a great deal of the book was cut out. I kept expecting more.

Maybe it needed a bit of love or a love interest? Dunno. But I was hopin that the Tigress wouldn't go with him cuase that just didnt seem to fit. Oh well.

I didn't watch it when we got it from Netflix, mom and Harm did, there was just nothing in the ads that made me want to watch it.

The magical realist style of the book might make that one difficult to translate to film. I remember liking certain aspects of the book, but not everything in the book worked entirely for me.

Have watched two films with the kids this week. First, Race to Witch Mountain with the kids. It was fun, very action-oriented. The actors who played Tia and Tony in the original film have cameos in this.

Next we watched The Spiderwick Chronicles at home and enjoyed it. I have several of these books but haven't read them. The kids and I may read them together soon. Of course, certain scenes can be a little scary for little ones. Mine made me sleep with her last night, fearing goblins were coming to get her.

my five year old loved Spiderwick, watched ten times in a weekend back to back.

I plan on watching Nora Roberts movie that is premiering on Lifetime tonight.

I also rented Twilight since I don't have time to read it I'm watching it. Also rented was Bolt for the girls and War Zone Punisher, I can't remember his name but the guy from Rome, Bruno, is the main character.

Which Nora movie is it that they're showing? They screened a few over here last year: Montana Sky, Angels Fall and another one I can't remember! Quite good, easy to watch.

The Black Dahlia. My god it was the crappiest movie I think I had ever seen. The murder was pretty much an afterthought. Lame.

Hey, that's exactly what I thought about the book it's based on, so I never finished it, this was years before the movie.
